Reading International Summit

Nikita's picture

On Saturday 27th January, we boarded a train to London as we had been invited to attend the Reading International Summit. This was part of a week of Tate Exchange events which university students were involved in and this meant heading to the Tate Modern for the day.

Reading International is a contemporary visual arts organisation that works at bringing new art to Reading. Last year, we worked with them on our Abel Auer exhibition and they have been incredibly supportive of the centre.

Our volunteers gave a wonderful presentation around the theme of the Rising Sun and Reading arts/culture in 2025. We explained some of our goals for the future, talked about collaboration with other local arts organisations and reminded people how unique our organisation is.

We understand the importance of art and culture for our community and it was great to be part of some really interesting conversations. The hope is that these conversations and plans will be discussed further in Reading.

Here are some photos from our trip:

Hi Everyone

Hope you're "enjoying" the novelty of grey skies, rain and other things that many of us at Rising Sun HQ like to describe as "cricket weather".
