Hi Everyone
Hope you're "enjoying" the novelty of grey skies, rain and other things that many of us at Rising Sun HQ like to describe as "cricket weather".
However, if you find such things a bit too depressing we have a number of things to cheer you up this weekend
First of all, Friday, and for your delectation, we have CLUB VELOCITY
A week earlier this month due to something called Reading festival, and it looks like this
THE PINK DIAMOND REVUE
Reading Electro punks. They deal in film scores for the B Movie generation. Awesome band with a capital A. Think of the Shadows getting drunk with Big Audio Dynamite.
STUPIDCHIEF
They sound as if they come from the heyday of DIY greatness.Made in the bedrooms of the world. Punk-lo fi, with big bad wonky and bendy beats. Rejoice! This happens to be their debut show at the Rising Sun, so why not come down and greet them, with a big welcoming hug.
PUNCH DRUNK LOVER
It has been a while, but the Chip Hop sensation is back, back, back!! "Nu RG1 styleeeeeeeeeee" so it says here
We're open at 8pm.and it'll cost you £5 on the door or £4 in advance from www.wegottickets.co.uk
(Please note that this gig is for ages 16 and over)
On Saturday, the SCARLET VIXENS present VINTAGE TWIST
Back with another bi-monthly bonanza at The Rising Sun! This time, the Scarlet Vixens are bringing you some vintage classics - but as always with a The Scarlet Vixens show, we'll be bringing them right up to the present day with a contemporary swizz!
Expect the unexpected, and most definitely expect some show-stopping showgirls with jaw-dropping costumes and feathers a plenty!
Performing from The Scarlet Vixens are:
LILYANA L'AMOUR
LAYLA CHERRY
LADYK PHOENIX
TOOTSIE LA ROCQUE
MO JO JONES
LADY INTREPID
We also welcome to our stage for the very first time, our beautiful newcomer MERCY HART!
Our resident DJ TANIA TWINKLE will be spinning some classics as usual, and this time we're being hosted by our Turtle favourite, the divine and bonkers LORETTA LEBONKE!
We'll be open at 8pm with some tickets available on the door for a much too cheap £10 each
That's everything for another weekend, and also for this month, as we're taking next weekend off. Just remains to remind you that you can find us at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you put us in your Google or Sat Nav, we shall magically appear)
