“Float” to the Rising Sun with Creative People and Floating Point

This Saturday sees an interesting and unique event take over the centre. FLOAT is an evening of laid-back music and relaxing treatments in aid of the Mayor of Reading's charities: Babies in Buscot and Fibromyalgia Action UK.

It’s been put together by Floating Point, Berkshire's only dedicated Floatation Centre focusing on health and wellbeing, and Creative People, who work with schools, colleges, businesses and arts organisations to develop exciting projects and varied learning experiences focused on the creative industries. And the evening’s events very much reflect these two diverse curators.

In our main room, there’s live music from Chris Trim, Emily Charlotte Haynes, Mike Halliwell and Matt Malone. Venture upstairs, and you can experience a taster Indian head massage and neck, head and shoulder massage from Floating Point accompanied by an extended ambient DJ set from Quiet Noise. Entry is a pay-what-you-want donation, plus additional donations for any Floating Point treatments you take.

Creative People’s Matt Foster had this to say: “Creative People are really excited to be involved in this event. We've enjoyed collaborating with Floating Point to put together a laid-back evening of acoustic music, ambient sounds and relaxing therapies. We're also proud to support the Mayor of Reading's charities and hope to raise as much as possible for these important causes.”

But that’s not all the Creative People are bringing to the Rising Sun Arts Centre – they’re also behind our new Creative Kids Club that’s running on Saturday mornings, giving 10-16 year olds the chance to learn new skills, make friends, and have fun.

Hi Everyone

Hope you're "enjoying" the novelty of grey skies, rain and other things that many of us at Rising Sun HQ like to describe as "cricket weather".
