This Weekend's Events (25th to 27th October)

Hi Everyone

I was watching the latest televisual enterprise from the Kardashians when one of them said something rather profound and thought-provoking.  Alas, I can't remember which Kardashian sibling said it, and due to my somewhat advancing age, what they said...

(Please don't judge, piety is a rather unattractive virtue.  Also, I've watched Fleabag several times but have yet to find out which of the upper-middle-class types that crop up in every episode is the funny one)

And in other news, there's something or other happening at the Rising Sun this weekend!

On Friday, we have another CLUB VELOCITY!

Another fine selection of live music for the enjoyment of us all courtesy of Velocity HQ and it looks just so

TV SMITH
Legend. No question. The master.

MATT STOCKL
Great singer-songwriter of the highest order

SEASONS IN SHORTHAND
Ace local singer-songwriter of the highest quality.

We're open at 8pm.  And it'll cost you £9 in advance from www.wegottickets.com or slightly more than that on the door

(FIESTA LATINA takes a well-earned rest until next month)

Sunday evening sees another OPEN PAGE/OPEN STAGE

A monthly collaborative event for writers, artists, musicians, and everyone in between! The premise is an extension of the traditional ‘open mic’, however, the focus is on words and collaboration. We want people to come and showcase their art in a safe and comfortable environment. If you’re an artist, bring your work early on so we can hang it around. If you write – poetry, prose, songs, plays – bring a piece or an excerpt. Actors – come and practice for auditions! If you play an instrument, bring it along! Think of the evening as a cross-creative spectrum jam night.

We’re open at 7pm and it’s absolutely FREE!

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Here's to a good weekend!
