We’re very proud to announce the first acts for this year’s Here Comes The Sun music and arts festival. For the ninth year running, we will once again be opening all our doors for a full day of music, arts, food and fun on Saturday 11th August.

Performances will take place across three stages throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to experience the big-gig feel of the Sun Stage in the main room, the laid-back lounge setting of the Sky Stage upstairs, and the quaint and cosy charm of the Tree Stage in our back garden (rarely open to the public).

The acts forming our first announcement for this year’s line-up once again represent the best talent from Reading and further afield. Acts like innovative singer-songwriter Jake Morley and eclectic folk troubadours The Green Rock River Band, who both wowed us when performing at the centre over the past few months.

Also making their festival debuts this year are acoustic indie folk act Colours and Fires and the melodic and harmonious duo Tomorrow Bird. Not to mention WOLFS, a very different duo who make noise with drums and a guitar, New Puritans who bring their signature brand of shouty punk to the festival, and BIGG who offer up something a little heavier.

On top of this, folky three-piece The Seasons In Shorthand, acoustic popsters Bright Shadows and the bluesy voice of Jodie O’Callaghan make a welcome return to the festival.

There will also be loads for kids to do in our unique, self-made garden area, and the chance to unwind during the day with Tape Club, or in our legendary outdoor cinema as the night draws in. There will also be much more to be announced in the coming months, so keep a check on our website and social media channels!

Here Comes The Sun is one of the biggest events in the centre’s calendar, and presents a unique chance to really show off just what makes the centre – and its volunteers – so special. This tall, imposing former temperance house will once again be transformed into a colourful cathedral of culture filled with lights, bunting, decorations and music.

So join us once again for the biggest house party of the summer!
