I first went to an event at the Rising Sun Arts Centre in 2004 and kept going back for more. The Centre has a very friendly atmosphere. Thanks to the very forgiving audiences at Tribute Night I have been able to develop as a singer from someone who had incredible stage fright to someone who looks forward to singing in front of an audience a few times a year. In my time, I have helped out behind the bar on the quieter events, taken a hat around at Tribute Night for donations, sung the odd song or two and in March 2017 was co-opted onto the board of trustees. The Centre has given me so much over the years and it is great to be able to give something back to it now.
