Hi Everyone

The sun is out, the sky is blue, ther's not a cloud to spoil the view.  Look!  There's somebody who's been constantly pestered all the way from one end of Broad Street to the other by a squadron of charity muggers and they've STILL got a smile on their face!

Not only that, but there's also a busy weekend here at the Rising Sun

On Friday, we bring you THE BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new unusual talent into the Rising Sun.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players…the possibilities are endless.

Back from a well-earned summer break, Big Untidy are thrilled to bring you the hyper-blues of the Leeds-based combo FIGHTING CARAVANS and the very clever, yet hard-rocking THUNDER ON THE LEFT. To complete the bill we have the soprano-fronted symphonic metal of INCARDINE COVEN.  In an exciting new development this event will be compered by the eccentric genius that is MIKHAIL THE TERRIBLE

We're open at 8pm and it'll cost you a paltry £5 on the door to get in

Saturday afternoon sees the return of YELLOW TEAPOT CAFE

Back for the rest of the year, Yellow Teapot  is a family-friendly volunteer run cafe showcasing local artists' work as well as interesting books to browse, delicious homemade cakes and exotic teas to sample.

We're open from 1pm to 3pm and it's absolutely free!

Finally on Sunday, we're pleased to be part of HERITAGE OPEN DAY

Join us as we delve into the Rising Sun's history through an art exhibition of work created for and about the centre as we celebrate our 25th birthday.  Our cafe will be open again with homemade refreshments and it promises to be a great opportunity to explore the Rising Sun and all it has to offer!

We're open from 11pm to 4pm and ionce more, it's absolutely free!

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)
