Hi Everyone

Yet again, we have to say a massive thank you to everybody who came through our doors last weekend.  We're proud to have been part of Independent Venue Week and it was great to see such a mix of familiar and not so familiar faces.

Now then, we suggest you put those carnations in the bin, recycle that Valentine's card and keep the box of chocolates for yourself (they probably won't appreciate it,  And anyway, you're special and no doubt deserve a treat of your own), it's time to regale you all with what you can expect at the Rising Sun this weekend

On Friday we bring you THE BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new unusual talent into the Rising Sun.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players, the possibilities are endless.

The powers that be at Untidy HQ inform us that this month's offering will be reassuringly low on the traditional hearts, flowers and chocolate but high on talent and good times. Featuring the superbly wayward PINK DIAMOND REVUE, the eccentric genius of DENNY PAUL MILLS and UFTON NERVET'S RAMSHACKLE UNSTRUNG BAND and imaginative and atmospheric jazz from BARON MARA. The whole shooting match is held together by 'Mr Romance' himself, MIKHAIL THE TERRIBLE.  Bring a partner...or not.

We're open at 8pm and it'll cost you a paltry £5 on the door to get in

Saturday's a little quiet, but on Sunday evening we bring you the 2018 incarnation of VEGGIE DINING

Veggie Dining returns yet again!

Come and feast on our vegetarian (and often vegan and gluten-free too!) delights in the lovely atmosphere of the Rising Sun.

Three-course set meal of home-made fare brought to you by vintage volunteers ready to tickle your tastebuds and bring you the communal dining experience you all crave on a cold February Sunday.  Plus, as we've touched on already,  it’s nearly Valentine’s day, so bring along your true love to win their heart through their stomach and be romanced by some local entertainment!

We'll be open from 2pm and you'll need an advance ticket (so they know how many to cook for) via: https://billetto.co.uk/e/veggie-dining-tickets-255834

That's everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!
