Hi Everyone

I, your humble narrator, did have a little pre-amble planned for this little notice from us to you.  However, life and a rather depressing episode of The Archers has git in the way.

(I've been listening for nearly thirty years and there's still no mention of bows and arrows.. or Robin Hood.  It's a bloody scandal!)

On Friday we bring you THE BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new unusual talent into the Rising Sun.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players, the possibilities are endless

This month the powers that be at Untidy HQ ask you to put the champagne on ice for the coolest Valentines Night celebration ever... possibly...

This particular Big Untidy has a punk theme this year featuring local punk brutalists ORDER #227, Grant Sharkey and Dave Allon performing their bass/drum project BEASTS. The bill is completed by Reading's own garage punks JULIET And The RAGING ROMEOS. Compering the whole shooting match will be 'Mr Romance' himself MIKHAIL the TERRIBLE.

We're open from 8pm and it'll only cost you a paltry £5 on the door to get in

Saturday morning brings another BOOKFACE BOOKCLUB

An informal artists book group. Ideal for sharing your latest book finds and creations, sometimes includes art and craft activities for book making

We're open from 10am-12noon and it's only £4

Saturday afternoon sees the return of the YELLOW TEAPOT CAFE

The Yellow Teapot Cafe might do everything a cafe might do. You can buy tea, coffee and soft drinks, biscuits and cake. But we are an event, a haven for those who like to relax, look at books, be creative and drink tea.

We're open from 1pm to 3pm and it'll cost you nothing to come in!

Finally, on Sunday, it's time once more for our annual DANCE DAY!

For the fourth year on the trot, we present another whole day of FREE dance classes!

All classes are aimed at beginners giving a taste of the wide range of dance taught at the centre. Dance is good for you and nurtures mind body and soul. It's great exercise, it connects us to others. It is creative and expression of feelings and ideas.

The dances and timings are:
10:30 - La Rueda
11:15 - Balboa
12:00 - Bachata
12:45 - Tango
1:30 - Kizomba
2:15 - Solo Jazz
3:00 - Tap
3:45 - Dabhka
4:30 - Instructor demos

And the cafe will be open too, so you can have a piece of cake as you've worked so hard :)

We're open from 10am and it's absolutely FREE!

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!
