This Weekend's Events (6th to 8th April)

Hi Everyone

Did you know that I once made a replica nuclear submarine out of polystyrene.  It didn't go down very well

And with one of my better/worse jokes (depending on your opinion) out of the way (that reminds me, who wants to buy a Crackerjack annual from 1982?), it's time to let you know what's happening at the Rising Sun this weekend

On Friday, we play host to a fundraiser for GREENPEACE

Courtesy of Madcap Moonsoup, this event looks to raise some money for Greenpeace and awareness of the things they do to defend the natural world and promote peace by investigating, exposing and confronting environmental abuse, and championing solutions.

There's music from:
ADAM & ELVIS
OCEAN RUINS
JERSEY BONES
TAPE IT SHUT (acoustic set)

We're open from 8pm and admission is free. (We suggest keeping a fiver aside for when donations are collected through the night)

On Saturday, something special from KINDE

Kinde is an extraordinarily gifted and talented composer/songwriter/guitarist and singer from Havana, Cuba. He composes for radio, television, documentaries, adverts....as well as performing his own original fusion orientated songs at venues and festivals all over Europe. Kinde is appearing here with the mighty percussionist Carlos Fuentes who has worked with Airto Moreira, John Williams, Juan de Marcos (Buena Vista Social Club)...

Be prepared to dance.

We're open from 8pm and entry is £10 (or £8 concessions). Also, you can still get tickets online at: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/434557

That's everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)
