Hi Everyone

September seems to have disappeared as quickly as a recruitment consultant who's been asked if there's any work available, or a community support officer faced with a disturbance, and subsequently Autumn is now upon us.

But never mind, hopefully there's something at the Rising Sun this weekend to take yor mind off such tihngs...

On Friday we bring you AN EVENING OF TIBETAN CULTURE

Including delicious food and traditional dance, to raise awareness and money for a unique exchange programme aimed at empowering the next generation of Tibetans.  TibetXChange will bring five young Tibetans from Sikkim, India to the UK at the end of the month to spend two weeks raising awareness of the cultural, political and economic situation in Tibet.

The exchange will give young Tibetans an opportunity to delop their confidence, skills and capacity as community leaders.  Join us for an eveningto celebrate an ancient and colourful culture an dlearn more about the aims of the programme.

For a bit more info, why not go to www.tibetxchange.wordpress.com

We're open from 6pm to 10pm,  And we suggest you keep £10 aside as a donation on the night.  (All money goes to the project and youl'll be entered into a prize draw to win a campagne hot air balopon flight for two, as well as enjoying an evening of Tibetan culture!)

Saturday's a bit quiet, why not stay in and read a book?  I'm currently reading through Keith RIchards' memoir entitled I Think I Can Remember The Sixties.  Thus far Keith is unsure whether he not he drove a Ford Anglia or a Triumph Herald.

On Sunday afternoon, we have a CARIBBEAN ARTS DISCUSSION

As part of Black History Month, speakers will include fashion/costume designers, musicians and visula artists.  Topics will range from locations, support for up-and-coming artists, funding and the impact of art on our own adn different cultures.

For a bit more information email Ayshea at africaripoetry@gmail.com or call 07540 594984

We're open from 1pm to 3pm.  It'll cost you £10 on the door to get in, lunch and refreshments will be served.

That's everything for another weekend, just to remind you that you can find us at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST  (If you put us in your Google or Sat Nav, we shall magically appear)
