Hi Everyone

If the seasonal weather is getting you down, it's worth remembering that this weekend sees January skulk off for another year and February sneak in.  And with that, we can welcome rain that gets slightly warmer, skies that turn blue for a couple of seconds more each day and slightly fewer holiday ads

Anyhow, before I forget, it's time to let you know what's happening at the Rising Sun this weekend!  There's just the one event this time around.  It's on Friday, which sees the return of CLUB VELOCITY

Another fine selection of beat combos for the delectation of us all courtesy of Velocity HQ. We are proud to announce that this month's Club Velocity is part of Independent Venue Week, a 7 day celebration of small music venues around the UK and a nod to the people that run them, week in, week out.  So it's rather appropriate that the first Club Velocity of the year looks something like this:-

THE AUGUST LIST
They are back.Your fave wife/husband duo.  John Peel listens to them in Heaven, or so we are told

JACK CADE
With more ditties from the Swale delta, Jack returns with the aid of his friends, THE EVERYDAY SINNERS, to promote his new EP

LITTLE RED
Not only are they Punk As Folk, but they're also an outfit that endeared themselves to many Rising Sun regulars last year

We're open at 8pm, and it'll cost you £5 on the door or £4.40 in advance from www.wegottickets.co.uk.  Judging by the number of people taking an interest, this particular night is looking as if it'll be absolutely rammed!!  You might want to get yourself down here as early as possible

By the way, you can find out more about Independent Venue Week at http://www.independentvenueweek.com and also at

and also Instagram @IVWUK
