Hi Everyone

I do hope you're enjoying this somewhat unseasonal weather and not sweltering too much.  Excuse me a moment, I just need a cold shower (again)

Right, where was I?  As the icicles that formed from the cold shower start to vapourise and turn into steam, it's time to let you know what have for you at the Rising Sun this weekend.

On Friday, it just happens to be CLUB VELOCITY

Another fine selection of beat combos for the delectation of us all courtesy of Velocity HQ:-

BELLYEYESMILE
One of our favourite bands of the last few years. They have played some of the best live gigs over the last few years. They were def one of the HUGE highlights of this year's Are You Listening

Wonderful bendy punx for proper punx.Think Cardiacs/Fugazi/The Sea/System/Frank Zappa

AWESOME BAND!! DO NOTMISS!

MARIAH PARIAH
Three brothers from that Purley-On-Thames.  Who have not played for well over a year.Welcome them back. They remind us of the mighty Jacobs Mouse.  (Ask your Nanna!)

ARSENIO
Are an unassuming guitar and drum duo from the burbs of reading who play a form of glistening high powered sportsmusic. chug and squall and syncho rumble. math rock scribbled on a napkin, more than the sum of its parts, an equation that does not equate. Sprawling and restless riff monster compojams that hide their tracts of melody like an ogre hides his heart. that lodge their spawn nestled in your ears and leave them to hatch and grow up in your brain. Enjoy!

We're open at 8pm, and it'll cost you £5 on the door or £4 in advance from www.wegottickets.co.uk.

On Saturday it's time for FIESTA LATINA

A fun and sociable dance night featuring a mix of Latin dances from tango to meringue, salsa to bachata and all the stops in between (La Rueda is a speciality). Very friendly evening in somewhere that could have been lifted straight out of Cuba. Come and enjoy some hot Latin rhythms.

We'll be open at 9pm and it'll cost you a paltry £6 on the door to get in

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!
