This Weekend's Events (26th to 28th August)

Hi Everyone

I realise this is somewhat off-topic, but I really don't understand why lion tamers are held in such high esteem.  I watched one on TV recently and the lions didn't seem tame at all, in fact they looked absolutely furious!

Either they should be prosecuted under the Trades Description Act, or they really ought to call themselves something else.  After all, my Uncle Frank had one of those "Federation of Master Builders" stickers on his van and fell foul of the law when somebody realised it was all a load of you know what!

Now then...  August Bank Holiday at the Rising Sun tends to be rather quiet, so quiet that there's tumbleweed drifting across the back yard.  This time around we just happen to have something for your enjoyment this weekend, especially if you want to get away from Reading Festival this weekend and enjoy something slightly more civilised!

On Saturday we bring you another helping of VINYL CLUB

Vinyl Club, I hear you ask?  Well, it's a great opportunity to listen to a record undisturbed and the chance to discover new music!  Come and relax, as we peacefully and silently listen to two records back-to-back in their fully intended glory

Each month somebody brings along two records to listen to, followed by a short discussion.  Anyone can join in, and the bar will be open for you to grab a tea, coffee, or beer to better help you relax with the music.

If you'd like to bring along some records for a future VInyl Club then drop a line to Guy Siviour info@risingsun-artscentre.co.uk

We're open from 1pm to 3pm, And it's absolutely FREE!

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!
