This Weekend's Events (24th to 26th April)

Hi Everyone

This bizarre unseasonal weather has certianly brought out some equally strange behaviour from the people of Reading.  I was in town earlier and I saw somebody driving a convertible.  Despite his somewhat advanced years, he was saying to the world that he was cool, he was as the young people say "sick, innnit".  And then I heard what was playing from his in-car stereo.  It was "Silence Is Golden" by The Tremeloes.  Then I started laughing.  Then somebody else started laughing....

Anyhow, at the Rising Sun this weekend we hae a couple of things that we think you should come and see, regardless of whether you are or aren't having a mid-life crisis...

On Friday we have CLUB VELOCITY

Another fine selection of beat combos for the delectation of us all courtesy of Velocity HQ:-

TOM WILLIAMS
It has been a while, but he is back at the Rising Sun, sadly minus his backing band The Boat this time.....  But Tom's moment seems to be coming, and he also happens to be one of the best acts to ever play here over the last ten years....

MATT MALTESE

The teenage genius is back (we can't keep him away)

DICKY
The new Adele.Rick Rubin is a fan. (So it says here)

We're open at 8pm, and it'll cost you £5 on the door or £4 in advance from www.wegottickets.co.uk.

On Saturday it's time for FIESTA LATINA

A fun and sociable dance night featuring a mix of Latin dances from tango to meringue, salsa to bachata and all the stops in between (La Rueda is a speciality). Very friendly evening in somewhere that could have been lifted straight out of Cuba. Come and enjoy some hot Latin rhythms.

We'll be open at 9pm and it'll cost you a paltry £6 on the door to get in

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!
