This Weekend's Events (20th to 22nd January)

Hi everyone

"January.. sick and tired, you've been hanging on me.  You make sad with your eyes, you're telling me lies.  Don't go, don't go, don't go..." etc etc

January is not always a popular month (even if you're an obscure Scottish pop band who relies on an ode to this particular time of year to help pay the gas bill)  However, every cloud has a silver lining!  While the weather tends to get slightly colder in January, the evenings start to get a little brighter.  Sometimes at this time of year, the sun rises as early 9.30am and if conditions are favourable it can sometimes set as late as 1.30 in the afternoon.  Not only that, but we at the Rising Sun, have a little something this weekend we want to tell you about!

On Saturday, we have the first BANDORAMA of the year!

The third saturday of the month?  The third saturday of the month at a certain venue in Reading? Surely that means another helping of one of the best band nights in town and here's how it looks this time round

THE PINK DIAMOND REVUE
Beatsnroll.  More punk than you.

THE GO GO CULT
Billynroll.  More punk than you.

BRIDPORT DAGGER
Sassyrocknroll.  More punk than you.

We'll be open at 8pm.  And it'll cost you £5 on the door to get in (£4 in advance from www.wegottickets.com).

(MILONGA SIMPATICA will be back in March after taking a short but well-earned break)

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

So January is behind us. It was cold, it was damp but the January blues never made it inside the Rising Sun’s front door.
