Hi Everyone
Once again, life has managed to get in the way of this little epistle concerning all things Rising Sun related. Luckily there is a full weekend for I, your humble narrator, to tell you about!
On Friday, we bring you STAND UP CINEMA
The one place in Reading showing rarely seen classics, obscure documentaries, cult independents and overlooked modern gems! It's also the one place in Reading where you can enjoy a nice organic beer with your popcorn (and also, we now offer fresh ground coffee!)
If you would like to showcase your work contact info@real-time.org.uk. They don't have to be in the final form, just 10 minutes or less!
This month's main feature is EYES WITHOUT A FACE (1960, Georges Franju)
A chance for you all to get your Halloween frights early, Quite possibly the scariest film ever made (apart from Sound of Music anyway). Not for the faint-hearted!
We're open at 7pm. Short films start at 7.30pm and Primer starts at 8pm. It'll cost you a paltry £4 at the door to get in!
On Saturday, we have BANDORAMA
MATT MALTESE
The teenage genius is back.
JAMES HISTED
Current front man of the Ultimate End-slays it solo
DICKY
Fresh from recording in LA with Rick Rubin. The erstwhile Libor Spacek frontman returns.
FILIP HNIZDO
One of our highlights at Here Comes The Sun 2014.Reminds us of the great, great Slampt Record label.Very punk/Punk as fuck. (so it says here)
We're open at 8pm and it'll cost you £5 on the door to get in or £4 inadvance if you go via that new-fangled www.wegottickets.co.uk
And finally, on Sunday, it's time for MILONGA SIMPATICA
A small, friendly milonga aimed at giving people a chance to dance tango in a relaxed and stress-free environment. Good company, tea and cakes are provided. A nice way to wind down the weekend!
We’re open from 4.30pm and it’ll only cost you £6 on the door.
That's everything for another weekend, just to remind you that you can find us at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you put us in your Google or Sat Nav, we shall magically appear)
