Hi Everyone

I really do love this time of year when the nights are drawing in, there's a slight chill in the air and the whole family gathers round a roaring Samsung Galaxy Note 7

And if you own another brand of mobile phone which is still working, why not stick all your disused consumer durables on the fire, and we'll tell you what's happening at the Rising Sun this weekend..

On Friday we bring you THE BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new unusual talent into the Rising Sun.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players…the possibilities are endless.

This month the powerts that be at Untidy HQ focus on putting the mastery of the acoustic guitar at the centre of all the performances. Appearing at this event we have a range of fantastic local and not-so-local guitar playing talent. Scottish guitarist percussionist and composer Douglas Macgregor is able to perform beautiful and intricate guitar music across a range of styles from traditional classical to more traditional approaches, Local guitarist Mike Harper uses technology to augment his playing to produce a multi-layered, textured sound. Andy Moir is a fabulous player with a percussive and driving technique. We are also very pleased to have a rare performance from Steve Christmas, Head of Guitar at Berkshire Maestros Music School and conductor of the Berkshire Youth Guitar Orchestra who will be playing with a range of guests.

We're open at 8pm and it'll cost you a paltry £5 on the door to get in

On Saturday, we have another helping of BANDORAMA

The third saturday of the month?  The third saturday of the month at a certain venue in Reading? Surely that means another helping of one of the best band nights in town and here's how it looks this time round

THE KEEP CATS
The first time they played Silver Street, many seasoned gig-goers were very impressed.  Stupidly talented.  Stupidly young.  Stupidly good.

TYRANT
New Kids On this particular Block,.which is alright with us.

EXCEPT ON TUESDAYS
Female fronted, full throttle, get out the way grandad rock.

We'll be open at 8pm.  And it'll cost you £5 on the door to get in (£4 in advance from www.wegottickets.com).

MILONGA SIMPATICA is taking a little rest until next month

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)
