Hi Everyone

Maybe it's the unseasonal weather, maybe I, your humble narrator, have an overactive mind, however, I swear that was the now erstwhile Everton manager Roberto Martinez I saw hovering around Rising Sun HQ lthis afternoon offering to help with any odd jobs...

And if like me, you're beginning to see mirages andf the like, don't worry, why not find somewhere in the shade, have a sit down and have a look at what's on at the Rising Sun this weekend?

On Friday we have none other than THE BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new unusual talent into the Rising Sun.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players…the possibilities are endless.

This month, the powers that be at Big Untidy are very pleased to announce that local fabulous avant-rockers VIENNA DITTO will be llaunching their new album at this event. they will be aided and abettted by the return of Mr GRANT SHARKEY, the eccentric genius of UFTON NERVET'S RAMSHACKLE UNSTRUNG BAND and the very danceable and rather brilliant country folksters ORANGE CIRCUS BAND. What a line up!!

On Saturday afternoon we have the YELLOW TEAPOT CAFE

A new monthly cafe all about community, cake and cups of tea!  Also a showcase for local artists with work on display and everyone welcome!

We're open form 12pm to 2pm and it's absolutely FREE to get in

Finally on Sunday, MILONGA SIMPATICA brings you TANGO SELECT

A small, friendly afternoon milonga aimed at giving people a chance to dance tango in a relaxed and stress-free environment and this month we bring you live music from Tango Select. Tango Select play a selection of very danceable tangos, vals and milongas. Great for dancers or come to listen and enjoy the ambience and the friendly atmosphere of the Rising Sun.

We'll be open from 4pm-8pm  And it'll cost you a paltry £6. Join us.

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!
