Brazil, Brazil, Brazil!  It's got a giant Jesus on top of a hill...

... admittedly, it's not in the same class as the water tower at Tilehurst but I think it's got a certain charm to it

And with that indirect World Cup reference done with (I'm predicting Iran to win by the way), it's time to let you know what's happeing at the Rising Sun this weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, we bring you THE SECOND FESTIVAL OF UNTIDINESS

For the second year running, the Big Untidy crew will be putting on a  Festival of Untidiness over two days this very weekend!

On Friday, we have the return of MICK SQUALOR, this time with his full band line up, RIK KNIGHT also returns with his full band, and also making an appeareance are DINGUS KHAN, RYEWOLF, IZEE JEWEL BAND and STU CLARKE

Saturday afternoon will be intereactive and family friendly, with a Ukulele workshop, plus acoustic music from THE OCCASIONAL ORCHESTRA, spontaneous composition form Kent's very own ZEN BICYCLE BAND whose special guest will recount tales of East Kent as the Zens perform.  There's also appearances from COLIN STARK QUARTET (without a C), THE SIRS and various UNTIDY POETS.

In the evening we decamp to the After Dark for some very noisy shenanigans from MELLOR, LUKE PAULO & THE GRAPEFRUIT, and GRAE J WALL Y LOS CHICOS MUERTOS.

(For more details, see Big Untidy on Facebook)

We're open from 7.30 to 11pm on Friday and then from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday.  you can pay £5 admission on both days or £10 for a weekend pass

Finally on Sunday, we bring you MILONGA SIMPATICA

A small, friendly milonga aimed at giving people a chance to dance tango in a relaxed and stress-free environment. Good company, tea and cakes are provided.

We’re open from 4.30pm and it’ll only cost you £6 on the door.

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!

(.. Perhaps I should put Iran on an each way)
