Hi Everyone

First of all, one or two apologies are in order.   It looks like gremlins have got into our website once again and it's been temporarily down for a large part of thursday afternoon.

On the bright side, we've had our best people working on it and we're up and running once again.

Secondly, Before we tell you what's happening at the Rising Sun this weekend, a spot of blowing one's trumpet is in order as we've been nominated for Charity of the Year in this year’s Pride of Reading Awards.

The Pride of Reading awards celebrate exceptional courage, standards and success from individuals and business' across Reading. We're delighted to receive this nomination.

Don't just take our word for it, why not spare a minute or two to click on this link and find out a little bit more

And now that you're back with us, we can get back to business.  On Friday we have none other than THE BIG UNTIDY NIGHT OUT

The Big Untidy Night Out specialises in bringing new unusual talent into the Rising Sun.  Singers, songwriters, poets, punk outfits, ambient experimentalists, sensational cellists and demonic banjo-players…the possibilities are endless.

This month's little episode is subtitled FALLING OFF THE TRACKS and features HEAD OF STEAM, KAT SINCLAIR and introducing SAHARAS. The final addition to the line-up is the splendid modern psychedelia of THE HALLUCINATIONS

We're open at 8pm and it'll cost you a paltry £5 on the door to get in

On Saturday, we have MADCAP MOONSOUP

A mind-warping evening of surreal goings-on, stand up, comedy, mime and music brought to you from the good people of Reading and Basingstoke.

Line up this time includes include music from masked band HORSE ROCK, also NICK HODDER, RHODDERS, ARTHUR BROWN, STARKEY AND THE MOONDOCTOR, NICK MANSFIELD, and your compere for the evening NICK BRADBURY

We're open at 7.30pm and it'll only cost you £4 on the door to get in.

That’s everything for another week, just to remind you that we are, as always, at 30 Silver Street, Reading, RG1 2ST (If you pop it into your satnav or Google, we shall magically appear!)

Have a nice weekend!
