Open call for Reading artists

Damien's picture

Icarus will fly again this December, and we’re seeking local artists to contribute work for the next chapter in our series of contemporary art exhibitions.

Taking place on Saturday 3rd December, Icarus IV is a great chance to show off your work and collaborate with like-minded artists in the local Reading area. We hope this exhibition will continue to honour and celebrate local talent and culture as the centre was set up to originally do.

As this is an open call, we highly encourage a range of work to be submitted for entry, from performance, sculpture, painting, sound and film. We particularly encourage site-specific work, or work relating to the local area.

To apply, please send an e-mail with a small description about your art practice, a few photos of your work, and if possible, a brief proposal – preferably with dimensions - describing the piece of work you would like to show/perform for the event.

If you are not familiar with the Rising Sun Arts Centre, we are happy to arrange a date to show you around.

Please send applications to Jo Morton j.e.morton94@gmail.com. The deadline for submissions is Thursday 3rd November, and work will be chosen by Thursday 10th November – we hope to let everyone know the outcome by this date.

We look forward to seeing your wonderful applications!

Hi Everyone

It really annoys me how people nowadays are always moaning on about how things were better in the old days.  Nobody ever complained in my day... hang on....

Hi Everyone

Did you know that I once made a replica nuclear submarine out of polystyrene.  It didn't go down very well
