Get Fit for Reading’s Year of Culture and learn eight dances for free.

 

We’re kicking off our Reading 2016 programme with a full day of popular dance classes – all are completely FREE and suitable for beginners. Find a dance that inspires you. Dance is life affirming and good for mind body and soul.

11.00 am - SALSA
La Rueda: The Wheel. Dance with a whole room full of people at the same time.

11.45 am - TANGO
The most beautiful dance in the world

12.30 pm - BALBOA
Up tempo, swing in a close embrace

1.15 pm - REGGEATON
Cuban mixed with hip hop

2.00 pm - BACHATA
Latin to its core and as romantic as it comes. 

2.45 pm - CHARLESTON
High octane, fun, vintage, swing. 

3.30 pm- KIZOMBA
From Angola, slow and romantic danced to African rhythms. 

4.15 pm - JITTERBUG STROLL
End the day with fun, choreographed, swing dance in lines

5.00 pm - DEMOS AND SOCIAL DANCING

All dances will be taught by professional teachers who run classes in Reading – some at the Rising Sun.

The Rising Sun’s cafe will be open throughout the day serving home-made cakes and refreshments.
