A cracking line-up of theatre is coming

An exciting line-up of new performances is headed to the centre over the next few months as we stretch our theatre wings (sorry, sorry...)

Leading the fray is a new piece from Thee O Company (who you may recall performed here just before Christmas with “Life In A Box”). “Peace” is a new play written by Dshanka Djuric and directed by Aidan Owen, dealing with the tragic consequences of death. After new found love, watch Noah have to come to peace with Rose's death.

The troupe have been rehearsing at the centre for a fair few weeks now (their Facebook page is filled with photos showing how they’re getting on!) and will be doing three performances of the play – Friday 21st April at 7pm, and Sunday 23rd April at 2pm and 7pm.

And that’s not all. May 28th sees the students of Read College return to the centre. Following on from their 2015 award for Best Young Performer at Reading Fringe Festival, and 2 highly successful years here at the Rising Sun, the UK’s leading Performing Arts Foundation College presents yet another brand new comedy show! 4 weeks, 10 actors, zero scripts… come and find out what happens next!

And on June 23rd, the Notional Theatre will arrive at the centre for “Well Thumbed”, one man’s gentle yet mischevious thumbing through the well-thumbed pages of classic literature; the promises and temptations of dirty words and suggestive passages that then-young readers found irresistible - including words from Aesop and Austen, Doyle and Dickens, Shakespeare and de Sade and many, many more. All conceived and performed by Terry Victor with direction from Steven Elliott.

More details on Read College and Well Thumbed will be coming soon – but you can grab your tickets for Peace now!
