Bob gets Christmassy in the Living Advent Calendar

We’re pleased to finally be able to share with you the news that The Rising Sun is involved with Reading’s Living Advent Calendar this year.
If you’re not aware, the Living Advent Calendar is a whole host of magical events taking place in the town centre every day from 1st December. The Genius Ideas crew from The Rising Sun are busy at work transforming Bob the Flint Giant into Jeff the Giant Elf for an advent calendar event taking place at Market Square on 9th December at 4pm.
The premise is that that Jeff the Giant Elf has lost his Christmas Spirit and needs the children to help him find it again so that he can return to the North Pole. Jeff will also be outside Reading Minster greeting attendees of the Civic Carol Service at 6.30pm on 13th December.
Bob had a great summer, performing yoga poses for children to copy at The World Yoga Festival at Beale Park last July. His transformation into Jeff the Elf is already well underway. He now has a fetching set of pointy ears, a new lick of paint, and an elf costume is currently in the process of being stitched together. If you’d like to join the team to help with this project, roll up your sleeves and pop in to the centre from 7pm on Thursdays. We’ll be working in the bar…
… speaking of which, don’t forget that the bar is now open throughout the week. Pop in and enjoy and beer or two from our excellent selection. If you bring along a vinyl L.P. we’ll even put it on the turntable for you. Now where else could you go for such a service?
