The Trib Train keeps on a-rumblin’ through the lush landscape of popular music, and in the 2025 spring edition we pay a visit to the Queen of Rock’n’Roll.
This one is going to be huge fun! An absolute powerhouse singer with a fiery, versatile voice and blockbuster tunes, a huge personality, bucket loads of passion and grit, and no stranger to struggle and reinvention, Tina has covered so much ground in her illustrious career. Now is the time to dive deep into this back catalogue from 60s R&B via 70s rock, soul and disco to 80s pop, power ballads and beyond.
At this event, expect to hear a variety of folks playing a variety of Tina Turner songs in a variety of ways, some faithfully, some surprisingly, some ill-advisedly...
If you want to be involved and play a song or two, then email Zac at tributenight@hotmail.co.uk. You can bagsy a slot first if you haven’t decided on a song.
If you are a musician/singer and you want to be involved, but you don’t know other people to play or sing with, send an email and we’ll have a go at matching you up with others.
If you want to record yourself performing a Tina Turner song, or indeed any song by any artist previously featured at Tribute Night, please send to me to post on the Tribute Night Facebook page.
As usual, there is no admission fee, but donations will be collected during the interval – suggested donation £5 – cash, card, or QR code to PayPal.
All donations go to the Rising Sun Arts Centre, which is a registered charity funded mostly by its own earned income and staffed by volunteers.
