Tribute Night: Then That’s What We Called Music 2006 - The Year Tribute Night Was Born!

2006 was a fantastic year for pop music. It also happens to be the year Tribute Night became a thing, 20 years ago.
It may not be a year that we immediately think of as historically significant, but have a good delve back and you start to remember what great singles and albums came out that year, whether it was guitar-driven indie bands, funky soul popstrels, electronic dance music, or folk-influenced singer-songwriters.
The rules are simple. Just pick a song that was released in 2006. That can be a single or album track and it doesn’t need to have been a hit. Obviously, don’t pick something that was originally released many years before and just happened to be re-released or appeared on a compilation album in 2006. I will judge each submission on its merits, but don’t push your luck! Who’s up for it?

If you are a musician/singer and you want to be involved, but you don’t know other people to play or sing with, let me know and we’ll have a go at matching you up with others.

As usual, there is no admission fee, but donations will be collected during the interval – suggested donation £5 – cash, card, or QR code to PayPal.
All donations go to the Rising Sun Arts Centre, which is a registered charity funded mostly by its own earned income and staffed by volunteers.
Doors open at 8pm for a prompt 8:30pm start.
