  • Sunday 9 November: 11.00 am – 6.00 pm.

From the Lake District to the Thames, Yunxia Wu’s ink paintings trace a journey through light, landscape, and human connection — inspired by the river’s inclusiveness and the spirit of artists such as J. M. W. Turner and Stanley Spencer.

Yunxia runs the Chinese Calligraphy and landscape painting course at the centre every Sunday at 2.00 pm.

Saturday 8 November - Theme: The River Awakens — Light and Flow

12:00-1:00pm - Opening with Music: Exhibition opening ceremony. Music by Yunxia Wu  – invoking the spirit of the Thames as light and sound meet.

1:00-6:00pm - Exhibition open to the public: Quiet viewing; informal conversations with the artist.

6:00-7:00pm - Artist Talk: Painting the River: Yunxia shares her creative journey — how walking along the River Thames inspired her ink paintings and sense of rhythm, flow, and reflection.

7:00-9:00pm - Evening of Poems, Songs & Stories: A gathering of voices — poems, traditional songs, and live music about water and the River Thames. With guest artists, local musicians, and storytellers.

Sunday 9 November - Theme: The River Returns — Flow and Reflection

10:00-11:00am - Opening with Music: A gentle musical opening by Yunxia Wu: light and water in dialogue, welcoming visitors into a contemplative space.

11:30am-6:00pm - Exhibition open to the public: Quiet viewing; informal conversations with the artist.

6:00-6:30pm - Closing with Music: A quiet farewell, echoing the river’s gentle return to stillness.
