Oxford Improvisers is a collective of musicians dedicated to playing and promoting improvised music, mainly from the Oxford area, which have been performing for over 20 years. 

Many of Oxford Improvisers members play in nationally and internationally based ensembles, and are well represented on commercially available recordings and online platforms. They come from various musical backgrounds, although the characteristics of, for instance, jazz, classical or folk music may not be obvious in the music they play. 

There will be program of free improvisation from members of the collective consisting of three duets, two quintets/sextets and a structure piece for ensemble 'Sprindrift' (Paul Medley). In addition David Shipp (Reading based) will perform an electronic piece. The two quintets/sextets will each be accompanied by dance. Musicians: Lisa Reim, Flute and voice; Martin Hackett, Electronics; Dan Goren, Trumpet and flugelhorn; Phil Wachsmann, Violin; Suzanne Healey, Acoustic percussion; Paul Medley, Clarinets and Sax; Mark Browne, Saxophones and collected objects; Chris Dammers, Keyboards; Clare Woodham, Bass clarinet; Emma Wellings, Percussion and found objects; Chris Stubbs, Electro-acoustic scatterings; Lawrence Casserley, Voice, Signal Processing Instrument; David Shipp (Reading Radiophonic Workshop) , Electronics. Dancers: Helen Edwards, Andy Solway, Nathalie Descamps, Karen Goonewardene, Lizzy Spight.

Please note that entry to this event will require proof of a negative lateral flow test taken on the day. 

Doors at 7pm, music begins 7:30pm
