This project supported by Reading Borough Council, Berkshire Community Foundation and Creative Lives is based on the approach undertaken by the Open Mind Project which has been working with people with mental health problems in Reading for 10 years. The project is run by, and for people, with mental health issues supported by staff from Real Time Reading's community video organisation.
The project enabled participants to look at their environment in new ways. Creative activities can help improve a sense of wellbeing, the ability to connect with others, increase a sense of hope and improve the ability to make decisions and take action.
Real Time is a participatory media organisation, with an international reputation for its participatory approaches to digital media and has been providing creative opportunities in Reading for over 40 years
