Dreading Grand Slam 2023

Join us on Sunday, 8th January for the Grand Slam when the best performance poets from Dreading Slam 2022 compete against each other to win the title of the Dreading Slam Champion for the next 12 months The showdown will commence at 7.30pm with doors opening 15 minutes before the start. It promises to be a lively, fun evening’s entertainment. And it’s Free to come along….

The poets taking part are those who have qualified through the monthly Open Mic heats that are held on the first Sunday of every month. 2022 has seen some incredibly talented Slam Poets win through to the Final making for a hotly contested event and gives you, the audience, the unique opportunity to hear the very best of Berkshire Poetry. You might even be randomly selected to judge the performances and become part of the event. (Please note that this event is not Open Mic).

As if the Grand Slam isn’t enough, we also have another treat in store for you. Local poet/author/performer AF Harrold will be our Special Guest for the evening and will be the Master of Ceremonies for the Grand Slam. Definitely an appearance not to be missed.

Our regular Dreading Slam Open Mic Competition will return to its usual format from the 5th February giving you 11 chances to qualify for next year’s Grand Slam.
